The Power of Investing Your Time Wisely Illustrated

“‘Light’ a short film directed by David Parker, initially began as a project intended to bring awareness to energy waste. Bleeding, crying lights were meant to metaphorically parallel the way in which we invisibly squander our natural resources without much thought. While the original sentiment remains, the film also grew into a poetic statement about a world run amok and the human tendency to exploit that which we hold dear.”–source

I often feel this way about the potential of collaborating with one another using technology. There is so much power wasted when effort is duplicated, people are not empowered, giftings and skills are squandered on maintenance rather than expansion. There have been moments when I have seen global collaboration harness the best of people and deliver exponential outcomes. That’s what I want more of!

I watched the video once thinking about the dripping lights as my own time. Then I watched it again thinking about the lights as the time and talents of ministry leaders I know.

Inspiring and challenging. What do you think?
